Stephen D. Reading
Stephen D. Reading, founder and President of Automotive Dealer Management, Inc., (ADMI) while majoring in Economics, learned important and enduring leadership and life value skills as an ROTC student at the University of Michigan and from his experience in the infantry as a combat intelligence officer in Viet Nam (1965-1967).

Returning from Viet Nam in 1967, he earned an MBA from Michigan State University in 1969 and joined the Ford Motor Company shortly thereafter in Forward Strategy Planning.

After serving in a number of staff and field positions in several Ford Motor Company Divisions Stephen was given the unique opportunity to develop an econometric model of successful and unsuccessful parts and service operations. He profiled department financial and operating performance of over 5,000 auto dealers over a 2 year period. The most successful dealers and skill-sets were identified. Those skill-sets and business processes were mapped as core disciplines and applied to other existing dealer operations to make them successful as well.
